a murpworkschrome blog
It’s been so and too long since I updated this blog. There’s no excuse. So, there is only one thing to do – Update, reset and begin again.
I nearly lost the murpworkschrome domain but managed to resurrect it, phoenix-like, from the ashes of letting it go. However, I’m back, with renewed vigour.
My Instagram account has grown fatter. I’m happy with a fair few of the photographs taken but I got lazy. Nearly all were taken with my iPhone. I want to do more than this so I’m buying a Ricoh GR III. I walk around and take photographs. If I don’t have to take a camera bag (I have two) then that is good. I don’t want people thinking I’m a photographer. The GR III gives me the ability to replace my smartphone with a smart camera. I want point and shoot intelligence and I think the GR III can give me this.
The latest photographs I took were the other day, driven by the lockdown / Covid-19 affected times
It’s one of the few things you can do!
Today however, it snowed! Now it’s brilliant sun. Once again, constrained by the viral climate, I’m confined to a small area of excursion
I update, reset and begin again…

RIGHT & 45 RPM graffiti in Bristol
This graffiti from Bristol can be found at the bottom of Park Street, down the steps on the left hand side and just under the road bridge. They celebrate vinyl and my initials and I love the comic style 🙂
I love the colours swarming over the extractor outlets

From the journey into work , to the station. The train now standing…
Behind Platform 13 is about to be transformed after years of neglect. There’s something fitting about this image to me – everything stripped away…
The industrial grime of the railway line is brought out, while everyone walks away…
I see the Sans Serif boldness stands out against encroaching grime and flaking paint…

At Watchet Harbour, West Somerset, UK. An old historical port, active since the 1500’s. It is famous for the inspiration of Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, written in 1797.
A bright sunny day, photographs taken with X100F as out of camera jpegs.
I pass this vent as I walk home this way, every day from work. Â It’s only now, with the greenery has grown up around, that it has taken on a new significance. I took the photograph because it conjured up a Japanese feel to me.
I can travel far, without going anywhere and sate my wanderlust.
I spend a lot of time at the station – waiting…
There’s always a lot going on, so a simple, clean image doesn’t represent What I see on a day to day basis. I see trains, cranes, lights and rain and clouds roiling…
