A Journey By Train
Early morning journey, clouds streak and trees blur

The sun rises

It flares and flashes

Soon the day will pass me by…

Photographs of worn stone sea wall at Watchet. They bear the appearance of Beehive honey comb.

Moving in close to the subject really picks up the textured detail of the sea worn wall.
The two pictures above were taken with Fujifilm X100F on ACROS emulation – out of camera jpegs.

At Watchet Harbour, West Somerset, UK. An old historical port, active since the 1500’s. It is famous for the inspiration of Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, written in 1797.
A bright sunny day, photographs taken with X100F as out of camera jpegs.

In the depths of Wiltshire, just off the A350 that carries on down to Poole, outside the little village of Longbridge Deverill is small, unassuming Farm Shop that hides a vineyard.

One of the first photographs taken with my new Fujifilm X100F.
Walking through Foxholes on the way to The Bath Arms in Crockerton. It was early evening, cool, an occluded sky hung ominously and a forest of fern had grown up since I last blinked.

After days of rain, a beautiful day’s sunshine in the Wiltshire countryside. The wheat has ripened and the clouds filled a perfect blue sky.

An image of a rain-soaked sky bringing the green into focus.
Wiltshire, looking from the A350 toward Sutton Veny.

I pass this vent as I walk home this way, every day from work. It’s only now, with the greenery has grown up around, that it has taken on a new significance. I took the photograph because it conjured up a Japanese feel to me.
I can travel far, without going anywhere and sate my wanderlust.
A Rain Obscured View – You know its British Summertime when you can’t see out of the windscreen…

Taken on the morning of 29 July 2017, at Beer, East Devon, looking out across Beer Head. Right next door to Beer Head Caravan Park. You don’t have to be caravanning or camping to enjoy the food and drink and beautiful views.
Went to Beer in East Devon for the first time, a village on the East Devon coast. The weather gave heavy skies and a fine rain pervaded the day but it was perfect for walking…

Up onto Beer Head and walking over the South West Coast Path, toward Branscome

The path puts you right in touch with the environment at times…
